Our Team

Dedicated to supporting corporate employees and their families

Nathan Graham, Esq.

A transplant to the Detroit, MI area, I have been exclusively practicing in immigration law since June 2002.  Although I am a native-born American, my awareness of the significant issues and struggles that foreign nationals and immigrants can experience in coming to the U.S. began to increase dramatically when I met my future wife, a foreign student from Japan, while in law school.  As fate would have it, my first family-based immigrant visa petition and permanent residence application process would be that of my wife’s, which I would prepare and file on her behalf immediately after our marriage. This process served to further increase my interest in dedicating my legal career to serving the immigration needs of others in navigating the labyrinthine and often confusing immigration laws and regulations of the U.S.

After practicing immigration law with a firm in the Rochester Hills, MI area for two years, I relocated temporarily to the Los Angeles, CA area, which provided the opportunity for me to assist a diverse range of clients in their immigration needs, generally working with individuals and small businesses in the greater Los Angeles area.  I relocated back to the Detroit, MI area after this to begin raising a family.

Prior to joining the Law Office of Leila Freijy, I practiced as an attorney in corporate business and family-based immigration with a large law firm specializing in immigration law, assisting a diverse range of clients in obtaining immigration benefits.  It was at this firm that I met and first worked with Leila Freijy. After twelve years of legal practice there, I joined the Law Office of Leila Freijy in July 2019.

Over my career I have represented clients across many different industries, including information technology, automotive manufacturing, engineering, professional services consulting, healthcare, as well as higher education.  I have assisted major institutions of higher education across the U.S., internationally recognized corporations, mid-size and small businesses, and also many hundreds of individual clients in obtaining immigration benefits in the U.S.

My practice areas include nonimmigrant visas, immigrant visas and permanent residence processing, employment-based and family-based immigrant petitions, and citizenship.

I have provided immigration assistance to eligible permanent resident aliens in applying for Naturalization benefits at the Annual Citizenship Day event sponsored by AILA, Michigan Chapter, and provide continuing assistance to child refugees through the Michigan Immigrant Rights Center and Bethany Christian Services.
